At AGX we’re continuously improving our development methods. Thanks to the efforts of our development team, we’re proud to announce the birth of our own lightweight WordPress theme!
We started off with the default WP Twenty Eleven Theme, which we turned inside out and upside down to make the code as light, clean and functional as possible. We reviewed all key elements and based upon our analyses we stripped all unnecessary functionalities. After this removal operation, we only added super slick functions that meet the AGX quality standards.
We also used some Mr. Clean to remove all the trash in the CSS and to reduce the number of lines of code from 5000 to about 850. Overall, we were able to reduce the weight of the code with a whopping 80%! Try to beat that Weight Watchers!
As a result we now have a super-fast theme with lean and clear code, which we will use as a basis to develop even more impressive WordPress sites. The theme is fully customizable and expandable to meet all possible needs and desires.
The backend underwent some clever changes as well. We added the client’s logo on the login screen to add a personal touch. A unique user level was created in order to make the CMS as userfriendly as possible. The number of options in the default user level was just too much for inexperienced users. Thanks to the AGX code-wizards our clients now dispose of an easy to use dashboard, without having to browse through all those fancy looking, but superfluous, widgets, meta boxes, etc…
It’s clear we’re proud of our new baby and we can’t wait to use it to create websites with awesome features and an unseen usability, which operate at a mind-blowing speed!
